Modernist Graphic Design

Stephane Mallarme.
'a musical score for those who wish to read it allowed'
a 20 page poem
broke typographic conventions
Ezra Pound's modernist slogan, "Make it new", as applied to music......exactly that, Mallarme chose to break down barriers and arrange the text in a creative and directive way. Perhaps one of the best examples of modernism, a self-conscious break from previous genres maybe.

campo grafico magazine...another fantastic example of a self-conscious change in direction, characterised by simplification in form...and a seemingly progressive approach to layout and design.

the devlopment of transport, the five year plan.
Modernist in the sense of representing a shift towards the modern world, via industrial and technological advances. In fact, advances in just about everything.
